Sen. Tamara Joseph (a.k.a. Tammy)

Sensei Tamara was first introduced to Shotokan Karate by her sister Yukita Joseph in 1996 at UWI Shotokan Karate Club at the University of the West Indies under the tutelage of Senseis Jean-Pierre and Damien Hezekiah.

For two years under their guidance Sensei Tamara was afforded a solid Shotokan foundation which served her well when they were succeeded by Sensei Richard Robertson and Sensei Andrew Rudder.

After grading for her black belt in 1999 Sensei Tamara began her black belt training with Sensei Dexter Shim who moulded her into the successful Karateka she is today.

In 2014, at 4th Dan Black Belt, Sensei Tamara Founded her karate club under the TKA Shotokan Karate  dojo  with the aim of passing on her knowledge. She would, in 2015, name this Club “Kuro Obi”.
